Crystal River saltwater fishing is booming with unbelievable fishing opportunities and out of this world results from day trips in the area. Catch rates are high, and variety is a big part of the picture, with multiple species being caught regularly.
We had an amazing time on one of our recent trips as we headed out for a day of grouper fishing when the trip took an interesting turn. One of our guests connected, and the fight was on. To our very pleasant surprise, he hooked into a 30-pound king mackerel in just under 6 feet of water.
Following this catch, we headed inshore, where the bite was on fire. Trout fishing was outstanding as we put plenty of solid fish in the boat. In addition to the king mackerel and trout, we got on a solid redfish bite to round out a fantastic day on the water.
As seen by this extraordinary trip, there is a wide range of species to target here in Crystal River. In addition to trout, mackerel, and redfish, we target other popular species such as jack crevalle, snook, cobia, and more.
